head, shoulders, ears, nose and throat

Little Miss Dylan has her first cold and its a doozy. She is all stuffy and snoring like a big old fat dude. Anyway we also had to take her to an ENT for an evaluation for tongue tie. Dylan's daycare provider is a lactation consultant and feeding therapist and she noticed that sometimes she has a really hard time with her bottle. She did a quick evaluation and explained that between the excessive gas, reflux and sleepy feeding lil Miss has a "sneaky tongue tie" Big brother David is also tongue tied but his is fairly prominent and while it prevented me from breastfeeding him at all, he has had no other issues. Dylan's is mild and not noticeable just by looking and since she is thriving there was no indication. So daycare provider, Angela, suggested an ENT - who was fabulous and awesome and amazing and etc... She said it is so mild she would not suggest snipping it. She said had we come sooner because of the breast feeding issues she would have done it, but now Dylan would have to relearn the use of her tongue for feeding and it would be more frustrating for her than anything. However she did hook her up to a heavy duty nose suction machine and cleared her nose right out. So even though I only got to breast feed for a couple of weeks I am glad that she is ok and doesn't have to have any procedures done.

Her pediatrician saw her for the cold (yes I am a worrier and sent her to the doctor for a cold) and said she was impressed with how advanced she is for her age. She instigates "conversations" and will babble to you in response as well. She follows movement from big distances. She tries to pull herself up to sit and will straighten out her legs to "stand" and stay that way with no wobble for a long time. She hates to lay down and always wants to be upright and in the mix. She mimics faces and smiles and laughs when you engage her. She can focus on objects and reach out and grab them. However she HATES tummy time so she may skip rolling over for awhile. LOL. She is kinda cool like that. Anyway as of this Tuesday, 11wks 2days she was weighing in at 11.6 lbs and 23inch - 5lbs and 5 inches in less than 3 months. She is just sprouting up.

Just a quick update... WITH PICS!!!

Today is my first day back at work and I am miserable. I am missing my little bug so very much. I have been horrible about blogging because I was experiencing technical difficulties with my computer at home and I never did figure out how to post pics from my iphone. So Miss Dylan will be 11 weeks old tomorrow and she is amazing. She is 10 1/2 lbs and 22 1/2 inches now. So big so fast. She is super active and "talkative" and sleeps through the night. She does have reflux which sucks but she is thriving and not in the least bit bothered by the constant puking so I guess we are good. Since I am playing catch up at work today I will keep it short on info and heavy on pics and then post again soon with the birth story and details from then till now. Enjoy the pics!!

She is here and 3 weeks old

So I suck at blogging from home because my computer is crap so here is a quick iphone update. I went into labor and had our lil breech princess via c-section at 2:18pm on August 1, 2013. Even though moments before we were sent to the hospital we were told she weighed @ 7.11 she came into the world butt first weighing a mere 6.5 and only 18inch long. She is three weeks today and now weighs 7.4 and is 19 1/2 inch. Time is flying by way to fast. She is perfect and we are in love. Our family is more than complete. I really want to post a picture but have no idea how from this phone so please bear with me while I figure it out.

35 weeks and hoping for at least 2 more

SO AS OF TODAY WE ARE 35+2 . IT HAS BEEN A MIXED BAG RECENTLY. THE CONTRACTIONS WERE GETTING REALLY BAD AND AT OUR NSTs LIL MISS WAS NOT BEING VERY COOPERATIVE. I GOT PRETTY SICK LAST MONDAY AND WOUND UP IN THE HOSPITAL ON TUESDAY. I WAS DEHYDRATED AND CONTRACTING SO THEY GAVE ME FLUIDS AND A LOVELY SHOT TO STOP THE CONTRACTIONS. THE SHOT HURT LIKE HELL AND DIDN'T DO MUCH FOR THE CONTRACTIONS. BACK TO THE DOCTOR THURSDAY AND STILL CONTRACTING BUT AT LEAST THE BABY WAS BEING MORE COOPERATIVE FOR THE NST. LEFT THERE WITH PERMISSION TO GO BACK TO WORK BUT NO PROMISE HOW LONG I COULD STAY AND A PRESCRIPTION FOR PROCARDIA TO STOP THE CONTRACTIONS.  NOW I AM ON THE PROCARDIA 4X A DAY FOR THE CONTRACTIONS AND THE DIABETES MEDS 1X A DAY.TOP IT ALL OFF WITH NOW THE CARPAL TUNNEL HAS MOVED TO BOTH HANDS AND I CAN BARELY BATHE MYSELF OR GET DRESSED WITHOUT WANTING TO SCREAM, EVEN WITH BOTH HANDS BRACED UP. I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS BABY AND SO IN LOVE WITH HER ALREADY AND I KNOW IT COULD BE SO MUCH WORSE...BUT IT IS NO PARTY. I AM UP A TOTAL OF 8lbs BUT FEEL LIKE I AM CARRYING 80. THIS HEAT IS UNBEARABLE AND THE 1hr COMMUTE HAS ALMOST DOUBLED ON SOME DAYS BECAUSE OF SUMMER TRAFFIC. SO... I AM THROWING IN THE TOWEL. MY DOCTOR IS PUTTING ME OUT ON DISABILITY AND MY LAST DAY OF WORK IS THIS FRIDAY. RIGHT NOW OUR GOAL IS TO GET THIS LIL GIRL TO AT LEAST 37 WEEKS AFTER THAT THEY WON'T STOP LABOR BUT I WILL STILL HAVE THE C-SECTION. SHE IS STILL BREECH AND SITING UP NICE AND COMFORTABLE ON MY RIGHT SIDE WITH HER LEGS STRETCHED OUT AND CURVED AROUND MY LEFT SIDE. FOR SOMEONE IN A RUSH TO GET OUT OF THERE SHE IS MAKING A LOT OF NOISE BUT MAKING NO MOVES.THIS LITTLE LEO GIRL IS GONNA GIVE HER MOMMAS AND BIG BROTHERS A RUN FOR THEIR MONEY. WE HAVEN'T SEEN HER FACE IN A FEW WEEKS AND AREN'T SCHEDULED FOR A SONO UNTIL 2 WEEKS FROM NOW. I NEED A CUTE BABY FIX ASAP. ON THE NURSERY FRONT MY WIFE AND HER DAD STARTED THIS PAST WEEKEND AND HAVE MADE HUGE HEADWAY. I AM FINALLY NOT STRESSING HER ROOM BEING READY. WHICH, BY THE WAY, IS FRIGGIN AWESOME CONSIDERING MY OLD BUDDY ANXIETY HAS STARTED CREEPING INTO MY LIFE IN NOT SO SUBTLE WAYS AND IS STARTING TO KICK MY ASS REGARDING EVERYTHING ELSE. ANYWAY I WILL LEAVE YOU WITH SOME PICS FROM OUR SHOWER ON 6/29. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL AND I LOVED IT SO MUCH.
