Our (not so baby) Boys

THIS IS GONNA BE ONE OF THOSE POSTS WHERE I AM CRYING FROM START TO FINISH. YUP, ALREADY CRYING. ANYWAY, OUR BOYS ARE SENIORS IN HIGH SCHOOL. THIS MEANS THAT IN JUST A FEW MONTHS THEY WILL BE LEAVING US FOR GOD KNOWS WHERE TO START THE NEXT CHAPTER IN THEIR LIVES...COLLEGE. I AM SO PROUD OF THEM AND KNOW THAT THEY ARE GONNA BE GOOD ON THEIR OWN. I AM ALSO CRUSHED. I HAD DAVID WHEN I WAS 19. HE HAS BEEN THE CENTER OF MY EVERYTHING FOR ALMOST 18 YEARS. THE VERY IDEA OF HIM LEAVING MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO BREATHE. I LITERALLY FEEL LIKE SOMETHING IS CRUSHING MY LUNGS.

RYAN HAS BEEN A PART OF MY HEART FOR ALMOST 15 YEARS. I GET HIS MIND AND HIS DARK SENSE OF HUMOR. I UNDERSTAND HIS HEART AND HOW IT HURTS. I SHOULD HAVE HUGGED HIM AND KISSED HIM MORE BUT IT WAS SO HARD TO GET CLOSE IN THE BEGINNING BECAUSE I WAS SO AFRAID HE WOULD BE YANKED FROM MY LIFE. BY THE TIME I REALIZED IT, WE ALREADY HAD OUR FLOW. I KNOW HE KNOWS I LOVE HIM AND I TRY MY HARDEST TO ALWAYS LET HIM KNOW. BUT I SHOULD HAVE DONE MORE.

I AM GOING TO MISS THEM BOTH SO MUCH.  IT ACTUALLY HURTS MY HEART. I CRY UNCONTROLLABLY JUST THINKING ABOUT IT. MAYBE ITS A LITTLE EXCESSIVE, BUT IT IS THE GOD HONEST TRUTH. I AM GOING TO MISS THEIR SENSE OF HUMORS, THEIR THOUGHT PROCESSES, THE WAY THEY LAUGH TOGETHER AT SOME STUPID BOY THING AND HOW THEY LOOK WHEN THEY ARE THINKING UP SOME WILD OFF THE WALL THING. I AM EVEN GONNA MISS THEIR WISE ASS SNARKY COMMENTS WHEN THEY ARE COPPING FULL BLOWN TEENAGE ATTITUDE. I AM GONNA MISS THE SOUND OF THEM WALKING IN THE HALL. I AM GONNA MISS THE SMELL OF THEM IN THEIR ROOM (EVEN THOUGH IT IS AN ACQUIRED TASTE) AND HEARING THEM CALL ME FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY NONSENSICAL AND SILLY OR TO TELL ME SOME THING THAT ONLY I WILL GET. I AM GONNA MISS JUST WALKING INTO THEIR ROOM AND SEEING THEM THERE. I AM GONNA MISS WATCHING THEM PLAY WITH THE BABY AND THE WAY SHE LOOKS UP AT THEM AND SMILES WITH HER BIG BROWN EYES FULL OF LOVE AND WONDER. WE HAVE WORKED SO HARD TO GET THEM HERE AND NOW I AM IN FULL PANIC MODE BECAUSE I DON'T WANT THEM TO GO.

BUT WE DID A GOOD JOB AND THEY HAVE TO FOLLOW THEIR DREAMS. I HOPE THEY DON'T GO FAR AND THAT THEY COME HOME OFTEN AND CALL EVERY NIGHT. FACETIME WILL LET ME SEE THEIR FACES BUT NOTHING WILL FEEL LIKE IT DOES WHEN I HUG THEM...THEY MAY NOT BE BABIES ANY MORE BUT THEY WILL ALWAYS BE MY BABIES.

... DAMNIT!!! I AM OUT OF TISSUES.

Thankful for our little butterball

This year we have so much to be thankful for. We are mostly thankful for our little turkey and her big brothers. She is getting so big so fast, but then again, sadly so are they. She just turned 4 months but Ryan is 17 and David will be 18 in a month. Hold your babies tight and tell them you love them every day because no matter how old you or they are, they are still your babies. Here are some pics. Enjoy.

A quick update in pictures and captions

SO YEAH... I TOTALLY SUCK AT UPDATING SO I AM GONNA CHEAT AND DO THE CLIFF NOTES VERSION. I ALSO FIGURE AS LONG AS I DO HER BIRTH STORY BEFORE SHE IS A YEAR OLD I AM IN OK SHAPE SO I GOT SOME TIME STILL.

No surprise what she was for Halloween - a grouchy lil ladybug

not too impressed with her pjs either

her big brother David's #1 football fan

"what the hell do you mean I am 3 months already?!?!?"

she even sucks her pacifier with attitude aka bobo swag

she really is a happy baby, see!!!

maybe if we didn't do things like this to her she would be less cranky

she can be real goofy when she wants - see what her mama taught her to do... fresh baby

our living doll

I just really Love this pic

and who wouldn't love this face??

we went to visit some great ladies at our fave B&B and Dylan liked them alot

sadly our lil lady was admitted over night to the hospital for bronchialitis - she is almost all better

since she was feeling a little better we decided to let her start cereal - she had become a lil food beggar and clearly she is wasting away at 12lbs 5 oz and 23 1/2 inches long. We will all need at least 2 jobs each now.

head, shoulders, ears, nose and throat

Little Miss Dylan has her first cold and its a doozy. She is all stuffy and snoring like a big old fat dude. Anyway we also had to take her to an ENT for an evaluation for tongue tie. Dylan's daycare provider is a lactation consultant and feeding therapist and she noticed that sometimes she has a really hard time with her bottle. She did a quick evaluation and explained that between the excessive gas, reflux and sleepy feeding lil Miss has a "sneaky tongue tie" Big brother David is also tongue tied but his is fairly prominent and while it prevented me from breastfeeding him at all, he has had no other issues. Dylan's is mild and not noticeable just by looking and since she is thriving there was no indication. So daycare provider, Angela, suggested an ENT - who was fabulous and awesome and amazing and etc... She said it is so mild she would not suggest snipping it. She said had we come sooner because of the breast feeding issues she would have done it, but now Dylan would have to relearn the use of her tongue for feeding and it would be more frustrating for her than anything. However she did hook her up to a heavy duty nose suction machine and cleared her nose right out. So even though I only got to breast feed for a couple of weeks I am glad that she is ok and doesn't have to have any procedures done.

Her pediatrician saw her for the cold (yes I am a worrier and sent her to the doctor for a cold) and said she was impressed with how advanced she is for her age. She instigates "conversations" and will babble to you in response as well. She follows movement from big distances. She tries to pull herself up to sit and will straighten out her legs to "stand" and stay that way with no wobble for a long time. She hates to lay down and always wants to be upright and in the mix. She mimics faces and smiles and laughs when you engage her. She can focus on objects and reach out and grab them. However she HATES tummy time so she may skip rolling over for awhile. LOL. She is kinda cool like that. Anyway as of this Tuesday, 11wks 2days she was weighing in at 11.6 lbs and 23inch - 5lbs and 5 inches in less than 3 months. She is just sprouting up.
